VERY LITTLE ABOUT RAW FOOD HISTORY. DELICIOUS BUT SCARY?

2 Mins read

Our Ancestors controlled the fire 400.000 years ago during the Stone Age. The discovery of mastering fire by Homo erectus, it let them cook them for food easy to digest and perhaps more delicious than ever but without knowing the real advantages of killing bacteria. Paleoanthropologists also think that easy chewing and digestion save energy (not to use enzymes), to use this power in growing brain and body mass. May help evolution in terms of using the brain more  than before. This cooking theory or activity allows humans for a better future of making tools, etc. Sitting around the fire, to cook, causes culturally and socially superior then not to cook in the Stone Age.

Why do we start to eat uncooked food again. More delicious? Maybe we all know but don’t  really care about it, including me that is not so healthy. Why?

Because it tastes really fantastic. What makes us keep away, really, no infection disease or parasites. I remember my daughter was poisoned badly from a blue crab on a school trip on the way back home. We immediately took her to the University  hospital’s emergency service. She had a very bad experience about sea crabs even cooked but not fresh.

Sushi like undercooked fish and oysters are always the usual suspects. The best actresses for sushi are;

  • Maguro
  • Japanese Amberjack
  • Salmon
  • Mackerel
  • Halibut etc.

The history of Sushi culture is said to have originated in China between the 5th and 3rd centuries BC, as a means of preserving fish in salt. Narezushi, the original form of sushi, has been made in South East Asia for centuries and nowadays there are still traces of it in some parts. Today’s sushi is mostly associated with Japanese culture. That means sushi and pride both have a large correlation in Japanese culture.

Why should we keep away from Sushi or more careful about eating?

Because of health concerns. First of all we consider all fish to be fresh in fine dining restaurants but this is not the only case that we should worry about. Bacterias and mostly parasites, there are 3 types of fish parasites, nematodes we called them worms which are round ones and they are very common, second flat ones which makes infections to liver, liver flukes are very dangerous, third type are  tapeworms. Normally with eye check you cannot detect them because they shed eggs and eggs usually are too small.

Raw food diets are another subject to talk about a bit.

The main idea is that cooking or heating food destroys its nutrients and natural enzymes which is bad because enzymes boost digestion and fight chronic diseases. Some thinks cooking makes food toxic. A raw food diet is low in calories, high in fiber and based on primarily healthy whole plant foods, so eating this way will lead to weight loss. The risk is If you should not take care of a good cleaning process, very simple, you will get infected or poisoned.

Gourmet Culture provides the ultimate gastronomic adventure blending culinary and cultural experiences across the world by the progress of wealth. People want to eat good food and chill.

Steak tartare  carpaccio are all inclusive.

At the end with a bit of knowledge everybody’s free to choose their way on their own risks.
